The President introduced her to the stage at the Dream City Church in Arizona on Friday. The widow of slain political activist Charlie Kirk was kissed on the cheek by President Trump. The event was organized by Turning Point USA, the group that Erika took charge of following Charlie’s assassination.

The President’s friendly nature to his supporters is being blasted yet again. His affection towards Erika was deemed by some as too much, with many sharing how grossed out they were by the viral moment. The President is among the many prominent figures who have spoken out since Charlie’s shooting death last September. Trump was one of many dignitaries in attendance for his funeral at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Friday’s rally is another of the on-stage scrutinized moments involving Erika and a political figure. In October, many wondered what kind of relationship she had with the President’s number two, JD Vance. She and the Vice President shared a warm embrace on stage in that October event. Erika touching the back of his head was among the suggestive things some people felt were sketchy. She has said that’s just how she hugs people.
Many of the President’s supporters were quick to come to his defense. They believe the outrage is overblown and not a big deal. Many of those people are labelling the moment as harmless, fatherly comforting.
Media outlets have pointed out that the POTUS and Erika have had controversial exchanges of affection before. The two had a similar double kiss on the cheek moment during Charlie’s service in September.
