Donald Trump’s Son Barron Has a Reason To ‘Lay Low’, Says Lara Trump

President Donald Trump’s son Barron has cultivated a reputation for near-invisibility in an era defined by constant media exposure. Naturally, curiosity about Barron Trump continues to mount. Meanwhile, his sister-in-law, Lara Trump, gives an explanation for it.

Lara Trump reveals why Barron Trump lays ‘low’

Speaking on her podcast The Right View, Lara Trump addressed the growing fascination surrounding Donald Trump’s son. She suggested that the intense scrutiny, particularly the internet’s fixation on Barron, is the primary motivator for his low profile.

“I don’t know if he knows the internet is obsessed with him. I think he knows there’s a lot of interest, but that’s why he likes to lay low,” she shared. “That’s why he plays it cool, that’s why you don’t see him all the time.” Lara further characterized his reserved approach as a strategic advantage, one that only helps increase the public’s intrigue.

“I say this all the time, I feel like he’s a sleeper, like you want to hear more about Barron because you see less of him, and I think that’s kind of cool,” she added. She also noted that his limited public appearances should not be mistaken for naivety, quipping, “He knows what’s going on out there. He’s up on all of it.”

Barron Trump is currently enrolled as a sophomore at New York University’s Washington D.C. campus. The institution describes the program as one where 60 to 100 students “engage deeply with politics, policy, business, journalism, and leadership through coursework and experiential learning in the nation’s capital.”

While he maintains a distance from the political fray, Barron is building a separate profile in the business sector. He is associated with Sollos Yerba Mate Inc., a beverage startup. The company expects to introduce its first products in May 2026. For now, however, Lara’s comments make it clear that the youngest Trump intends to be on the low.
