Hilary Duff’s Anna October Dress With Cape Is as Sheer as It Gets

Hilary Duff recently showed off her fashion game yet again as she turned heads at the 2026 TIME100 Gala. For this occasion, she went for a rather spectacular look that was quietly bold rather than being explicitly loud. She wore a cream-toned gown from the Anna October Spring 2026 collection.

This worked beautifully for her complexion and her toned frame. Further, the key detail of the stylish ensemble was that whisper-thin, almost barely-there sheer fabric layered over a structured silhouette. Even the caped element of the gown was just as special.

With the exquisite neutral-toned Anna October gown, Hilary Duff definitely delivered one of the highlight looks of the evening. In fact, the floor-length dress itself played with transparency in a very structured and controlled way. It wasn’t overtly revealing, but the semi-sheer overlay added a spicy touch. It also ended up giving the “Lizzie Maguire” actress’s look that soft and ethereal feel, almost like a veil, carefully draped over the body.

Furthermore, subtle circular embellishments also added some additional charm and texture to the gown without taking away from the minimal palette. Meanwhile, Duff’s matching cape brought in movement and drama without feeling extra or heavy. What made this look interesting was its overall balance. Sheer dressing can easily tip into either too safe or too much, but this comfortably sat just right in the middle.

The gorgeous piece also had a high neckline and clean column shape, which made her outfit look elegant, while the translucency and cape added that fashion-forward edge. It clearly felt grown-up, intentional, and very in line with where red carpet style is heading, which is more fluid, more experimental, but still polished looks. Lastly, the sleek bun, soft glam makeup, and minimal jewellery always allowed the gown’s design and silhouette to do all the talking. This is one of those looks that don’t scream for attention, but you still can’t help but feel mesmerized!
