Anne Hathaway is making a bold move in the weeks leading up to her new movie. The actress is set to reprise her role as Andrea Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2. The Oscar winner is making headlines by appearing in this month’s edition of Harper’s Bazaar.
It’s a decision that is turning a lot of heads so close to the premiere of that sequel. For one source, it’s “a clear message” to Anna Wintour. Anne was apparently going to be featured in Vogue, but insiders say “talks fell apart” between the actress and Vogue’s new magazine editor, Chloe Malle.

My way or the highway appears to be the message Anne is sending to Vogue. A source tells RadarOnline that Chloe “wouldn’t agree to Anne’s terms.” They go on to say that the Les Misérables actress doesn’t compromise when it comes to her image.
Anna is said to be the inspiration for The Devil Wears Prada and her reputation as a no-nonsense fashion magazine editor. In October, Anna reflected on the 20-year anniversary of the original movie starring Anne and Meryl Streep. She called it “a fair shot” at her, while she has no ill will about the picture.
Given the anticipation surrounding the sequel, Anne being on the cover of another magazine raised more than a few eyebrows. Most believed we’d be seeing her face on the cover of Vogue once again. That’s something we saw in August 2025. A source says Anne being in Bazaar clearly shows that “If Vogue won’t play ball, she (Anne) has other powerful options.”
The original film in that franchise grossed over $300 million at the box office. Meryl was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress, and Patricia Field for Best Costume Design. The sequel comes out in theatres across the US on May 1.
