In a recent discussion, former Fox News stars Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly debated about Jake Tapper. In the political debate, Tucker informed Megyn about a surprising claim about the CNN anchor.
The conversation occurred as the two talked about Jake’s interview with Reps. Mike Lawler and Josh Gottheimer. When Megyn asked Tucker about a comment Mike made, he revealed the Hooters information about Jake.
Jake Tapper’s reported past employment left Megyn Kelly laughing
According to Radar, Tucker and Megyn shared a laugh while discussing Jake formerly representing the Hooters restaurant chain.
The revelation happened on a The Megyn Kelly Show episode. Tucker criticized Jake as he talked about President Trump’s Iran tensions and CNN’s reporting of the conflict.
As the pair talked about Mike’s accusation of Tucker promoting “anti-Semitic hate speech,” the former Fox host said, “It’s just amazing to see Jake Tapper abetting something like this. I remember when he was a lobbyist for Hooters, thinking about becoming a journalist. He was literally a lobbyist for Hooters. I knew him well.”
Megyn commented, “What?!” then laughed, before Tucker responded, “Oh yeah, oh absolutely. He was traveling around America with the Hooters girls, promoting Hooters!”
“I mean, I could get behind it,” Megyn responded.
Jake clarified his Hooter’s role on the Dedicated podcast in 2025. “It was a bipartisan firm,” Tapper said referring to the public relations company Power Tate, according to Mediaite. “And we worked for whatever clients we got. And Hooters, in the Clinton years, was being threatened with a lawsuit from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for not hiring men as Hooters girls.”
He added that he was 24 or 25 at the time and was “working for a PR firm to pay the rent while I figured out what I wanted to do.”
