There has been speculation that she and Beyoncé had been at odds in the past.
The young singer that Rihanna may now be feuding with is a rising star. She also has publicly been a fan of the Umbrella singer and considers her a mentor.
Rihanna and Tyla allegedly have some beef
South African singer Tyla is allegedly not in Rihanna’s good graces, The Sun reports. Despite declaring the Barbadian songstress has had a big influence on her life, an awkward Met Gala interaction may have derailed a potential relationship.
In a viral video, Tyla appears to be approaching her idol, who made a quick exit due to issues with her “baby daddy.” The snub made the Water singer feel as if she was publicly dismissed by Rihanna, according to The Sun sources.
The two women have had cordial past interactions, and New York’s Met Gala gave Tyla an opportunity to spend more quality time with Rihanna.
In a video, Tyla was apprehensive about approaching the woman she considers an icon. “I felt awkward, I don’t know how to say hi,” Tyla said in the video. “Everyone knows I love Rih, I met her last year, and she was cool … I think she was occupied.”
The Sun sources note there were tensions with A$AP Rocky that made Rihanna noticeably irritated. “Rihanna was already annoyed before Tyla even approached her. Rocky had wandered off multiple times during the night,” the source recalled.
Rihanna’s subsequent Met Gala social media post with Ayra Starr’s “Who’s Dat Girl” soundtrack was thought to throw shade at Tyla. The two African breakout singers are often compared to one another. This prompted rumors that Tyla may have a different opinion about Rihanna.
Rihanna’s public spats are well known and, in addition to Beyoncé, include Ciara, Kendall Jenner, Teyana Taylor and TLC.
