A new photo of Donald Trump in China has sparked fresh debate about his height. The picture was taken in Beijing during the president’s ongoing three-day visit to Beijing. It captures Trump standing beside the Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Donald Trump’s height questioned after recent photo
The photo of Donald Trump and Xi Jinping has gone viral with netizens questioning the U.S. President’s height. According to official White House records, Trump stands at 75 inches which is around 6 feet 2 inches. However, in the photo, many netizens pointed out that Trump appears to be the same height as Jinping, who is widely reportedly to be around 5’10”.
Many have taken to social media to note this discrepancy and calling out Trump’s claim of being 6’2″. As reported by The Mirror US, one user said, “Idk why people still think Trump is 6’3.” It was proven a long time ago with many photos that he’s roughly 5’10. He’s been pictured with many people who are 6’0 -6’3 and they always tower over him by several inches.”
A second user joked, “Trump must be standing on the backs of Americans to get to 6’3,” while another said, “I commented on this morning. During the reception, Trump semeed to be even shorter than Xi.”
Most recently, Trump attended a state dinner hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday, May 14. He was joined by his delegates which included prominent government officials like Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth as well as several tech giants including Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder Elon Musk and Apple CEO Tim Cook, among others.
Ahead of his visit, Trump made a Truth Social post, hopeful about strengthening ties with China. “I will be asking President Xi, a Leader of extraordinary distinction, to ‘open up’ China so that these brilliant people can work their magic, and help bring the People’s Republic to an even higher level,” the POTUS wrote.
