‘Melania Has a Nail Appointment:’ Iran Embassy Trolls Trump’s War Talks

Donald Trump got mocked by the official Iranian embassy account of Kenya, after claiming he nearly ordered an Iran war strike. According to reports, the president postponed the attack after Middle Eastern leaders asked for more time for talks. The Iranian embassy responded to the war talk with a blunt Melania Trump joke. The sarcasm landed because Trump had said he was nearly ready to act.

Iran Embassy in Kenya hits Donald Trump’s war talks with sarcasm

As per the Iranian Embassy in Kenya, X post, the account responded to Trump’s postponed strike talk with sarcasm. The post joked, “Melania has a nail appointment,” and “he’s gotta drop her off at the salon first.” The post appeared to mock the president’s claim that an Iran war decision was delayed. It also dragged Melania Trump into the punchline as the first lady, not a policymaker. The joke worked like diplomatic shade, turning war room urgency into domestic duties. Meanwhile, the account framed the delay as unserious. It read sarcastically, “Priorities, folks. The free world hangs by a manicure.”

As per a CNBC report dated May 19, 2026, Trump said he was “an hour away” from a decision. Asked about a possible strike, he told reporters, “We were all set to go.” He added, “It would have been happening right now.” However, Trump said Middle Eastern leaders asked him to “hold off” for a few days. He later said, “I never tell anybody when,” while insisting they knew action was close. The report said the strike would have ended the shaky U.S.-Iran ceasefire.

Trump also said he had “made the decision” before being asked for more time. According to CNBC, he said Iran might have two or three days, perhaps until Sunday. He claimed the issue involved nuclear weapons and said, “I have to do it.” The report noted the Iran war remained unpopular in recent polling. Still, Trump argued that support rose when people understood the nuclear angle.
