JD Vance on ‘Collision Course’ With Donald Trump Over Iran Talks — Report

According to a report, Vice President JD Vance appears to have been isolated in Trump’s cabinet as Marco Rubio’s influence grows. This is happening amid Rubio being preoccupied with a rumored invasion of Cuba, while Vance continues his peace negotiations with Iran. However, Trump had made it clear earlier that a diplomatic approach to foreign policy doesn’t sit well with him and that he prefers being more assertive and serious in his actions.

JD Vance faces pressure from Donald Trump over Iran war talks, claims report

A source close to President Donald Trump recently told The Daily Mail that Vance is being sidelined and remains uncertain over his future to run for the presidency in 2028. They said, “Vance is a non-event in the West Wing.” He’s reportedly also facing pressure from Trump over the Iran situation, who wants it to be approached in a certain way rather than sticking to diplomacy.

The source added, “The President has made it very clear in recent months that he doesn’t abide by this strong, silent Gary Cooper style approach to foreign policy.” Sharing brief details on Trump’s handling of foreign policy, they said, “He’s loud, he’s active. These guys prefer to speak softly and carry a big stick, but Trump speaks loudly and carries a massive cannon.” The clash of opinions between the duo caused tension in their bond, while Vance’s rivals’ influence continues to rise in the cabinet.

“Rubio has more mojo than Vance. The President listens to him. Vance is out of step and has been for a long time,” the White House insider claimed. Earlier, Trump was asked if there had been any disagreements between him and Vance over the Iran situation. Trump debunked it, saying he doesn’t think so, while admitting that they do share different ideologies on the situation.

“We get along very well on this. He was, I would say, philosophically a little bit different than me. I think he was maybe less enthusiastic about going, but he was quite enthusiastic. But I felt it was something we had to do. I didn’t feel we had a choice. If we didn’t do it, they would have done it to us,” he explained (via ABC News).
