Donald Trump Uses Memorial Day Message to Attack ‘Dumocrats’

Donald Trump used Memorial Day to attack political opponents online. The posts on Truth Social targeted both Democrats and Republican critics. The president published a string of messages on the holiday, which is observed to honour military personnel who died in service, with only a brief mention of fallen troops. The posts focused largely on mocking Democrats, dismissing party critics, and defending his administration’s ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran.

Donald Trump rants on Truth Social on Memorial Day

In an early morning post on Truth Social, Trump addressed Democrats directly, writing, “Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year. God Bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I love you all!”

A second post followed, claiming Democrats had “BAD POLICY AND BAD CANDIDATES. Other than that, they are doing quite well!” Trump reposted both messages several hours later as Americans began their day. Across the flurry of posts, his sole reference to fallen service members was the phrase “ultimate sacrifice.”

The remainder of his messaging was directed at those critical of the Iran deal his administration is currently brokering. Donald Trump singled out Republican senators Thom Tillis and Bill Cassidy, along with Representative Thomas Massie, dismissing them as people who “do nothing but create division and loss. In other words, they are losers!”

Trump also addressed the substance of the Iran talks as well, writing, “It will be the exact opposite of the JCPOA disaster negotiated by the failed Obama Administration, which was a direct and open path to a Nuclear Weapon for Iran.”

His remarks come amid notable resistance within his own party. Senators Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham, as well as former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, have each warned that the proposed framework risks strengthening Tehran’s position and could prove to be a “disaster.”
