Prince William was left stunned by Kate Middleton’s exemplary skill. The Princess of Wales recently made a two-day visit to Italy on her mission for the development of children. In his recent interview, her husband shared how he was surprised by one thing about Middleton during her trip.
Prince William shares what Kate Middleton did that surprised him
In his interview with Heart Breakfast, Prince William revealed that he was surprised by Kate Middleton’s language skills during her Italy tour. For the unaware, Middleton was seen chatting with youngsters in their local language. She also introduced herself as Catarina, which is the Italian form of her first name. “I speak a bit of Italian. What is your name? I am Catarina,” the 44-year-old told the people.
Heart Breakfast’s co-host Amanda Holden acknowledged the princess’s skills in front of William. “I had no idea she spoke Italian, either,” she told the Prince of Wales. As such, he hilariously replied, “I didn’t actually. She must have dusted that off from a while ago.” Additionally, the royal expressed happiness on his wife’s first solo tour since her cancer diagnosis in 2024. “I come very, very proud. She’s been amazing,” William said. He continued, “She’s been through so much in the last couple of years, particularly. And she’s been looking forward the Italian trip a lot and so I’m really glad it went really well.”
The 43-year-old added, “She wanted to go and do lots of research. She spends God knows how much time now looking through all the paperwork.” Moreover, he called Middleton “an amazing mom, an amazing wife,” and said that the “family could cope without her.” William continued, “She’s been absolutely stunning. Really has.” Moreover, he mentioned that they are acting cautiously as Middleton resumes her royal duties.
“It’s kind of just sort of edging herself back into doing more and more of those trips,” he said. The royal further explained, “Away trips like that take a lot out of you because you’re on sort of permanent receive and send the whole time.” Thus, they are balancing “that—make sure she’s okay and rested.”
