Jill Biden was reportedly “shocked” after reading claims about a “fractured relationship” made by Kamala Harris in her book. The former First Lady recently appeared on “The View.” During Tuesday’s episode, she spoke about her new memoir, View from the East Wing. However, at one point, host Sunny Hostin brought up Harris’ memoir, 100 Days. In one excerpt, Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, mentioned that the couple had a “far more fractured” relationship with the Bidens.
Jill Biden seemingly taken aback on ‘The View’ by Kamala Harris’ book excerpt
Jill Biden was reportedly taken aback by what was mentioned in Kamala Harris’ new book, 100 Days. The former First Lady strongly supported Harris during the election campaign and reportedly gave her all to boost her chances of winning. Biden has also openly spoken about her amicable relationship with the former Vice President of the United States of America.
Hence, when Harris’ book referred to a “fractured relationship,” she was reportedly surprised. During the discussion on The View, host Sunny Hostin mentioned that Biden had previously spoken “warmly” about the relationship shared between the Bidens and the Emhoffs. She further pointed out the stark difference between how Biden described their relationship and how it was portrayed in Harris’ memoir, 100 Days.
Hostin said, “But in her book she alludes to a much more fractured relationship between the Bidens and the Emhoffs.” The television host further added that the book mentioned the Bidens allegedly questioning whether Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were loyal to them. According to the excerpt, he reportedly said that they supported them for years.
However, they did not receive much praise for their accomplishments, and their loyalty was still being questioned. Hostin then asked Biden about her response to those claims. She replied that she never felt that way about either of them, adding that they were a “great team.” She added that the revelation surprised her as they shared a great bond.
