Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ life in prison is a far cry from the life he was living a year ago.
The music mogul is currently serving time at Fort Dix in New Jersey after a jury convicted him on two counts of transportation for prostitution. Prosecutors had also accused Diddy of sex trafficking and racketeering, but jurors found him not guilty on those charges.
Now, as judges weigh his appeal, Diddy is spending his days shelving books, working out, and trying to blend in with the rest of the prison population.

Diddy’s fate is still uncertain. In April, a three-judge panel with the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments from his legal team, which is trying to overturn the conviction. The hearing lasted about two hours, and the court has not issued a decision. One judge reportedly described the matter as an “exceptionally difficult case.”
Until then, life moves on inside Fort Dix.
According to attorney Juda Engelmayer, Diddy has kept his attention on the appeal and on taking stock of his life. “He’s focused on the appeal,” Juda told Us Weekly, “and looking back at his life and trying to figure out ways to improve and be a better person.”
That mindset has apparently carried over into his daily routine. Rather than sitting idle, Diddy works in the prison library, where he organizes books and helps other inmates find something to read.
“He talks to inmates about what they want to read so he can recommend things to them,” Juda said.
When he is not working, the rapper keeps active. He spends time in the gym, walks laps around the prison grounds, and occasionally shoots hoops. “He isn’t looking to become jacked — he just wants to stay healthy and keep his mind healthy,” Juda explained.
Prayer and meditation have also become part of his daily routine. “[That’s] become part of his faith and therapy journey,” the attorney added.
Juda said Diddy has thrown himself into his legal case as well. “He’s become like a paralegal, if not a lawyer already,” he said.
The attorney also said the music mogul tries to keep a low profile. “He’s trying to be one of the guys. He’s congenial and helpful,” Juda said. While some inmates admire his celebrity status, Diddy reportedly spends plenty of time on his own.
The music mogul is also participating in Fort Dix’s Residential Drug Abuse Program. Attorneys say completing the program could shorten his sentence. His projected release date has already moved from June 2028 to April 2028.
For now, Diddy remains at Fort Dix, keeping a low profile and waiting to learn what happens next.
