Megyn Kelly Slams Bari Weiss Amid CBS News Controversy

As questions continue to swirl around CBS News, Megyn Kelly has shared her take on the network’s latest controversy. The former Fox News and NBC host blasted CBS executive Bari Weiss after the network’s ongoing turmoil erupted into one of the biggest media stories of the week.

Kelly didn’t hold back during the June 4 episode of her SiriusXM show, where she argued that the chaos surrounding the recent departures at “60 Minutes” reflects deeper leadership problems at the network. According to Kelly, the public fallout is a sign that management has lost control of the situation.

Megyn Kelly slams new boss Bari Weiss’ “prison camp” tactics and says she has no clue how to manage employees

Discussing the controversy with guest Maureen Callahan, Kelly said the fact that internal disputes have become national headlines should concern CBS executives.

“Whenever the drama inside your company blows up to the point where it is a multiple-day story on every news outlet in the country, you’ve done something wrong,” Kelly said.

The criticism comes after a string of reported departures at 60 Minutes. Veteran correspondent Scott Pelley was reportedly let go after publicly clashing with Weiss and newly appointed executive producer Nick Bilton. The shakeup came after correspondents Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega, along with several other senior staff members, left the network.

Kelly argued that firing key employees without providing clear explanations creates instability among those who remain.

“You can play hardball all you want,” Kelly said. “What is that going to do to the existing morale within CBS News? Within 60 Minutes? It’s going to make everyone hate you.”

She also referenced Pelley’s claim that Weiss allegedly refused to answer questions about the recent firings during a staff meeting. According to reports, Pelley accused network leadership of avoiding transparency before his own dismissal followed shortly afterward.

Kelly went even further, comparing the atmosphere at the network to a workplace where employees are expected to fall in line without question.

“You can’t swoop into 60 Minutes, fire all the top staff without any explanation, and then expect the remaining ones to do exactly what you want them to do,” she said. “It’s not a prison camp.”
