Zohran Mamdani casually listed Taylor Swift’s wedding as one of the highlight events in the city in the coming months. The NYC mayor told reporters on Monday: “I am fully confident in the work of the NYPD, as well as our state partners, in delivering that safe experience” (via Page Six).
Adding further, he said, “We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one.” The NYC mayor stated, “We know it coincides with the Knicks’ [NBA] Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding — all happening at the same time — and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”
After praising the Big Apple a bit more, Mamdani was asked if he received an invitation to Swift’s wedding. The 34-year-old replied, “No and no. I wish them a lovely wedding. I’ll listen to ‘Only the Young’ at home on my own,” referencing the singer’s 2020 track.
