French racehorse trainer Arthur Desprez, who works near Baker’s property, confirmed that the former royal stayed at Baker’s place. Furthermore, as per a local farm worker, the Duke of York stayed in the estate’s principal residence alongside Baker. The latter reportedly bore the costs of the trip.
Notably, this comes months after Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. While he continues to deny it, he remains under investigation and has not been formally charged yet. Unsurprisingly, the 66-year-old has come under fire from critics, who have questioned his decision to take an impromptu holiday while under investigation by authorities.
