Pitch Perfect Star Hospitalized After Falling Into Pool and Breaking Ribs

Ruby Rose’s summer has taken a painful turn after a backyard accident landed the actress in the hospital. The “Pitch Perfect 3” and “Orange Is the New Black” star revealed she broke multiple ribs after slipping into her swimming pool while cleaning it.

The scary moment was caught on a security camera, which Ruby later shared on social media. While she managed to inject some humor into the situation, the actor admitted she’ll be sidelined for several weeks as she recovers from the painful injury.

Ruby Rose shared footage of the mishap on her Instagram Story, showing herself losing her footing on the edge of her pool before crashing into the wall on her way into the water. She captioned the clip, “RIP to my ribs, and to the rest of my summer. They are broken, multiple,” according to E! News.

The actress added, “Straight to the hospital, did not pass go or collect 200 dollars,” joking, “That’s your girl!”

On Threads, Ruby gave fans another update, explaining that she had “landed perfectly” on the right side of her body and broke her bottom two ribs. “Please come and take me out. I brought this upon myself,” she wrote, adding, “And now I have to breathe into a machine lol.”

The recovery has also prompted the “The Meg” actress to reflect on a much more serious injury from her time filming Batwoman. Ruby recalled suffering severe neck and back injuries while performing a stunt on the superhero series, which required emergency surgery.

“I’m sorry, but what in the f–king dissociation and self abandonment did I do, to return to work on Batwoman, the day after breaking my rib and neck,” she wrote on Threads. “My rib was killing me!! I couldn’t feel my legs or hands, I was in a batsuit!”

For now, the actress is embracing a slower pace. “I’ve just broken two ribs, falling into my own pool backwards,” she wrote alongside a laughing emoji, adding that “you couldn’t pay me to put a bra on, let alone stand up.” She also asked fans to “Send good book and show recommendations,” noting that “this is going to take many weeks.”

Hopefully, Ruby’s recovery goes much smoother than the accident that started it.
