Tom Hardy’s ‘MobLand’ Status Gets Major Update After Reported Rift

Tom Hardy’s status on MobLand Season 3 received a major update following reports of a behind-the-scenes rift. MobLand hit Paramount+ in March 2025 and rose to instant acclaim, drawing 2.2 million global viewers on its premiere day. Developed by Ronan Bennett and Guy Ritchie, who also co-create and direct, the drama centers on Hardy as Harry Da Souza, the Harrigan family’s trusted, silver-tongued fixer.

Tom Hardy reportedly returning for ‘MobLand’ Season 3

Contrary to speculation, Tom Hardy remains part of MobLand. Variety has learned from insiders that the actor slated to return should Paramount+ renew the crime drama for Season 3. Season 2 production on MobLand ended in March, shortly after Hardy finished his work. A dispute then reportedly developed between him and executive producer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios, and additional producers.

Reports claimed that the “Venom” star was repeatedly late to set. He also allegedly stayed in his trailer for hours once, keeping Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren waiting. Hardy was further reported to have feuded with MobLand producers about script changes, his character’s prominence, and creative authority, as well.

However, the actor and the production team reportedly resolved their differences during a London meeting, clearing the way for his return. Earlier reports indicated that talks to return the “Legend” actor to the series were already in motion. While Paramount+ hasn’t officially greenlit a third season, the show’s strong streaming performance makes renewal almost certain.

Despite speculation about tensions with his castmates, Mirren has openly backed Hardy. She shared an Instagram post of him captioned, “Love you now and always,” signed “Helen”. Speaking to Deadline afterwards, Mirren described him as “the most amazing actor” with “the kindest heart,” noting that her support was “genuine and heartfelt”. She further noted that every performer works differently: “As long as what’s on the screen is fantastic, I’m totally chilled with however anyone gets there”.

With production finished in March 2026, Season 2 of MobLand will launch later in 2026. Hardy returns as Harry Da Souza, the fixer for Conrad and Maeve Harrigan’s crime outfit, portrayed by Brosnan and Mirren, respectively.
