Donald Trump’s Huge July 4 Show Is Running Into a Dangerous Problem

Donald Trump has reportedly decided to go forward with his July 4 event despite a concerning weather forecast. During his Wednesday appearance in North Dakota, the president declared that he will give his speech even if the temperature rises to 107 degrees.

Donald Trump vows long speech despite July 4 weather forecast

At the opening ceremony for the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Medora, North Dakota, Donald Trump vowed that he will give his long speech at the National Mall for the U.S.’s 250th birthday, even though weather forecasters have predicted that the temperature can climb to 107 degrees that day. “By the way, on July 4th, it’s going to be approximately 107 degrees out, and I’m going to go, and I’m going to make a really long speech just to show that I can do anything,” Trump said (via The Hill).

Trump’s Salute to America 250 Celebration & Fireworks event will kick off on Saturday on the National Mall at 7 p.m. The president is scheduled to deliver his speech at 9:45 p.m. EDT. The event is being organized by Trump’s Freedom 250, which also operated the Great American State Fair. It also plans the Salute to America event.

Trump had previously called the National Mall event “the most spectacular TRUMP RALLY of them all” in a Truth Social post last month. “There will be incredible Flyovers and Airshows featuring our Top Military Pilots and Equipment, and I will deliver keynote remarks that you will not want to miss,” he wrote.

The president added, “To conclude the program, and commemorate this Historic Occasion, I will be launching, what will be, the LARGEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN HISTORY, right here in our Nation’s Capital. Do not miss it.”

Weather forecasters have also predicted a high heat index of 94 degrees that day. They also anticipated humidity levels reaching 54%. “It looks as though the heat and humidity will likely hold on through the weekend as well,” the NWS said.
