Barron Trump skips Donald Trump’s July 4 celebration
Donald Trump’s son Barron Trump was not present at his father’s Great American State Fair for America’s 250th birthday on Saturday, July 4. He has not publicly disclosed the reason for skipping the event.
Barron is notorious for staying out of the spotlight, rarely making public appearances. He has no social media presence as well. Most recently, Barron attended the Freedom 250 UFC fight on Trump’s birthday, held on the South Lawn of the White House. However, he skipped the Freedom 250 kickoff event in June.
In addition to Barron, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, and their three children were also absent from the July 4 festivities. The couple was spotted at Michael Rubin’s famous “White Party” in The Hamptons just a day before, enjoying themselves with other A-list celebrities.
Barron began attending New York University’s Stern School of Business in September 2024, shortly before his father’s second presidency. In 2025, he moved to the university’s Washington campus near the White House, where he began his sophomore year.
Earlier this year, Donald Trump addressed the possibility of Barron pursuing a political career. In a May 10 interview on Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson, the president said that his youngest son is “certainly a popular guy.” Trump added, “But I have a lot of members of my family that are very popular, you know? I have good kids; they are very good kids.”
During a January appearance on Fox News’ The Five, First Lady Melania Trump spoke about the prospect as well. “He was very involved in the campaign,” Melania said of her son Barron. She added, “He gave him all of the ideas, whom he needs to talk to, including all of these YouTubers and podcasts. So, he was really a smart mind behind it.”
