A new report claims Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley’s contrasting personalities led to their separation
People reported on July 14 that an unnamed insider linked the Margaret Qualley breakup to differences in temperament and outlook. The source described Qualley as warm, upbeat, and optimistic. The insider portrayed Antonoff as more serious and claimed their personalities “weren’t the best match in the long run.”
The source framed the Jack Antonoff split as a long-term compatibility issue, not the result of one incident. However, neither Qualley nor Antonoff has personally explained why they ended their marriage.
Qualley’s representative previously rejected rumors about trust issues and infidelity. “The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue,” the representative said, adding that Qualley and Antonoff still share “deep love and care” for one another.
A separate source told People that the pair continued to treat each other with kindness and unity throughout the separation.
The separation was confirmed July 8, shortly before the couple’s third wedding anniversary. An earlier insider told the outlet that Qualley’s acting schedule and Antonoff’s touring and late studio hours had made the marriage difficult.
Antonoff attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s July 3 wedding with his sister, Rachel Antonoff, while Qualley did not attend. As per their relationship timeline, they started dating in 2021. The pair became engaged in 2022 and married in New Jersey in August 2023.
The latest People report also said Qualley plans to focus on acting as she prepares for the horror remake Possession. Antonoff, meanwhile, continues touring with Bleachers.

Qualley’s representative has also stressed that outsiders do not know the full story behind the marriage.
