Tom Holland rarely talk about his private life, which made his latest comment all the more delightful. The actor gave fans a rare peek into his marriage during a group interview. While promoting an upcoming film with his co-stars, he slipped in a sweet nod to his wife, making Tom Holland secret wedding the talk of the town.
Tom Holland made rare comments about marrying Zendaya alongside his co-stars
The exchange unfolded during a Wired interview posted July 16, which Holland did along with “The Odyssey” castmates Robert Pattinson, Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway. Reading a fan-submitted question aloud, Holland was asked whether the goddess Athena, played by Zendaya, loved Odysseus in a romantic way. His answer left no room for doubt. “No, because she’s married to me,” he said.
The comments on Zendaya marriage drew grins from the group. Damon, the Good Will Hunting star, jumped in with his approval, telling Holland, “Yep, good answer.” The joke carried on a little later when the actors tackled another question about the classic tale.
When Pattinson asked what Athena teaches the character Telemachus, Damon replied without hesitation, “True love.” This remark stood out because Holland and Zendaya rarely speak about their relationship, and almost never about their wedding.
The couple, who first met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, have kept the details of their romance secret for years. They shared occasional glimpses with the public. Holland officially confirmed the pair had married in a recent Esquire interview, after AI-generated images of a supposed ceremony spread online this year.
He explained that he did not need to tell loved ones whether the photos were real, simply “because they were all there.” He then closed the door on further questions, adding, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”
Zendaya has struck a similar tone about protecting their bond. In an interview, she acknowledged that she and Holland grew up in the public eye, but stressed that she tries to hold on to some things just for the two of them.
