Brad Pitt reportedly wants to reconcile with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie and their six children. Sources say that Pitt is ready to admit his shortcomings even as their children are dropping his surname.
The ongoing family divide continues to shape Brad Pitt’s personal life, according to reports
The Pitt-Jolie split has taken eight years to be finalized, and in between, a lot has changed for the family. The couple shares six children – Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and 18-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
According to OK! Magazine, Zahara, Maddox, and Vivienne have each filed to drop the “Pitt” surname. Shiloh has also legally altered her name. In the aftermath of the long conflict, Brad Pitt is seeking to make amends.
Sources for Rob Shuter’s ‘Naughty But Nice‘ have detailed how Pitt is feeling at the moment. One source says, “Brad understands why the children feel the way they do. He doesn’t put all the blame on Angelina. He knows he made mistakes, too.”
They explained, “Brad has never claimed to be perfect. He’s accepted his share of what happened.” However, some sources have suggested that Jolie had played an active role in destroying the children’s bond with their father.
Meanwhile, Jolie is reportedly embarking on a new era of life. Jolie told Yahoo Entertainment, “I’m discovering something now that my daughters are older, and they’re talking to me as young women.”
Pitt, however, is suffering on counts of both his families. Apart from his estranged children, family feuds within the Pitt clan have his own parents and close relatives reportedly growing more and more distant as well. “Brad’s father, William, is now in his 80s, and his mother, Jane, died in 2025 without ever seeing the family reunited,” a close friend explained.
Pitt and Jolie first met in 2005, and later married in 2014. The couple split just two years into the marriage in 2016. Their divorce was finalized eight years later in December 2024.
