While pregnant with her second child, Anne Hathaway opened up about the one talent that her older son does not find impressive. The Academy Award-winning actress welcomed her first child with her husband, Adam Shulman, in 2016. A decade later, this year, she announced that she is pregnant with her third child. Now that she is all set to have another baby, let’s take a look at the one skill her oldest kid is not fond of.
Pregnant Anne Hathaway reveals her son Jonathan is the ‘toughest critic’ of her singing
On July 28, the official Instagram page for The Graham Norton Show shared a video clip in which Anne Hathaway revealed that her son does not like her singing. The caption of the post dubbed her son her “toughest critic.” In the video, host Graham Norton asked the actress whether it was true that her son does not like hearing her sing at all.
Hathaway admitted that it was true, saying, “He does not. He does not like my singing voice in the slightest.” Norton then pressed for details, asking how her son reacted to her singing.
She said, “Sometimes, like he’s very calm, and I’m like, ‘Okay, this is it. This is the moment.” And so I’ll maybe start to sing a song that I know he likes, and he goes ‘Mama! Mama! No! No, mama, no.’ And then, like, I give it a minute, and I sing. He goes, ‘Mama mama mama mama, no.'”
When co-guest Rebel Wilson pointed out that the Interstellar star is a good singer, she said, “He doesn’t care.” For those unversed, Hathaway won the Academy Award for her role as Fantine in the musical Les Misérables.
The clip shared on Instagram is from an extended interview Anne Hathaway did alongside Wilson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Jodie Comer in April 2019 (via YouTube). A few months later, she announced that she was pregnant with her second child. She welcomed a second son with her husband in November that year.
