North West’s first headlining tour has come to an unexpected stop before the opening show. The 13-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West confirmed the news just days before she was set to hit the road with rapper Molly Santana.
The cancellation comes after months of excitement surrounding North’s live debut. Fans had already purchased tickets for multiple cities across North America.
North West’s first headlining tour will no longer begin on Aug. 5 as planned
According to Us Weekly, North and Molly Santana planned to launch the Kimokawaii Tour in Dallas on August 5. The tour would have taken North and Santana to Houston, Toronto, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and other cities. However, Ticketmaster has marked several dates as canceled, and the tour’s official website is no longer active.
North addressed the news directly on her Instagram Stories. “I was really excited to go on tour (with) Molly Santana, sadly it isn’t happening anymore, but I have something special for you guys, see you soon,” she wrote.
Santana also apologized to fans who had already made travel plans.
“To everyone who bought tickets to the tour, I sincerely apologize,” she wrote. “I know a lot of you have taken time out of your busy schedules and spent your hard earned money planning to be there.”
She continued, “Nothing makes me more happy than the opportunity to share more amazing memories with you all and I hope to see you soon.”
The rapper ended her message with a promise to make things right. “I love y’all so much and I promise I will make this one up to you. Black punk otw & be right back,” Santana added.
North launched the tour to support her debut EP, N0rth4Evr, which arrived in May. She later performed songs from the project during her solo festival debut at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash. She also made a surprise appearance with Santana at Rolling Loud.
Despite the canceled tour, North has continued to receive public support from her family as she pursues her music career.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast last year, podcast last year, Kardashian said parenting often means learning alongside her children. “I would never take that creativity away from her,” Kardashian said before adding, “I think like any mom of a teenager or a preteen… we just need a little bit of grace.”
Although the Kimokawaii Tour won’t move forward as planned, North told fans she has “something special” coming soon, suggesting another project could already be in the works.
