Charlize Theron is looking back at the making of her iconic action hit, “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Filming in the harsh deserts of Namibia was a tough experience for the cast and crew. However, behind the intense on-screen action was a very different story of teamwork. Theron recently shared how her co-stars rallied together to help look after her newborn daughter during the long, demanding production.

In a recent interview covered by The Hollywood Reporter, Charlize Theron reflected on her time playing Imperator Furiosa. She revealed that her oldest daughter was only six weeks old when filming began in Africa. Because she had not arranged for a nanny, she relied heavily on the support of the people around her.
Theron shared that her female co-stars and actor Nicholas Hoult essentially helped care for her baby during their six months on set. “All of the girls in this film and co-star Nick Hoult basically raised her for the six months that we were in Namibia,” Theron revealed.
The cast took turns watching over the infant while Theron filmed grueling desert scenes. She recalled sweet moments from inside the filming vehicle, “She was in the rig with us; she was with the driver and my assistant, but in between takes I was feeding her in the rig, and the girls would hold her, and then she would fall asleep, or she’d puke on Nick.”
Theron explained that these shared experiences created a strong bond that she still treasures today, “Those are some of my favourite memories because she learned to walk on that movie, so yeah, there’s a deep connection to this film.”
Looking back a decade later, Theron remains deeply grateful for her co-stars’ support. Beyond creating an unforgettable movie, the shoot left her with fond memories of early motherhood surrounded by a caring team.
