Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood shut down feud rumors
Offering a closer look at their off-screen dynamic, Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood talked to Variety in their first joint interview. The stars, who played doomed romantic pair Rick and Chelsea on “The White Lotus” Season 3, used the window to straighten out the controversy that sparked after the finale, hinting at a feud between them. He reportedly briefly unfollowed his co-star on Instagram, and although they refollowed each other, fans speculated there were tensions.
Goggins left no room for doubt, clarifying that “there is no feud” between him and Wood. “I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me,” he added, offering insights into her connection with his co-star. The actor then heaped praises on Wood, comparing her to Goldie Hawn and Meg Ryan, raving about her skills. He then repeated that there was no bad blood between them, calling the “Sex Education” star “love” and revealing how “deeply” they care about each other.
Furthermore, Wood shared her stance on these longstanding feud rumors with Goggins. “I think it’s such a comment on where we’re at culturally,” she opined, questioning everyone’s obsession over Instagram and calling it “irrelevant.” The actor claimed they don’t “give a sh— about” social media and urged others to “have conversations about” and “enjoy” Rick and Chelsea’s beautiful but tragic story.
Wood continued about wanting to correct people at first and bring the discussion back to the show. But eventually decided to sit back and watch people make “something out of absolutely nothing.” Goggins concluded by shutting down rumors that the unfollowing part was because he “needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea.” The actor said he “needed to just back away from everyone,” and she was “extremely supportive about that.”
