Sydney Sweeney ‘Parts Ways’ With Enron Meme Surfaces Amid Jeans Controversy

With Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle ad controversy still making waves, the now-defunct energy corporation Enron’s parody account has also joined in the fun with a new social media post. The discourse about Sweeney’s jeans ad and its allegedly racist connotations is still going on and has been met with some serious criticism in many places. However, there still does not seem to be a resolution to this that pleases everyone.

What is the ‘Sydney Sweeney Enron’ trend about?

As per Enron’s latest social media post, they have parted ways with the Anyone But You actress after the controversy surrounding her American Eagle ad. However, this is not Enron’s real account. Rather, the company has been shut down for decades now.

Following bankruptcy, Enron ceased operations back in 2007, and it definitely does not have an X (formerly Twitter) account. The aforementioned page, rather, is an elaborate joke. In December 2024, it emerged as a parody relaunch and has since continued with the X account.

The page often posts things related to current events. This is one such recent example, where the page, in the guise of corporate big shot Enron, took the call of “parting ways with Sydney Sweeney.”

Quite certainly, The White Lotus actress has neither been associated with the company nor its meme page at all. Either way, this post received a lot of engagement.

It is also clear from the comments that many users did not truly understand that this was not a real account. Moreover, the page keeps claiming that they are the real Enron, which adds to the hilarious approach.

Meanwhile, Sydney Sweeney’s ad with American Eagle remains under scrutiny. Many have claimed that the ad promotes eugenics and has undertones of white supremacy. As debate rages on, it seems that the world is completely divided on this. Meanwhile, Sweeney has yet to officially comment on the controversy.
