Ellen DeGeneres faced a lot of backlash after the former host and comedian was called out for having a toxic work environment on the set of her daytime talk show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Now, “Saturday Night Live”, aka SNL, has reportedly been lebeled as “more toxic” than Ellen DeGeneres. As reported by Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop, “sources” have compared the work culture at SNL to “a meat grinder.”
Ex-staffer claims SNL thrives on ‘humiliation’

One ex-staffer told the news outlet that “SNL thrives on humiliation.” The person continued, “It’s not just stressful. It’s toxic.” They also added, “People think it’s glamorous — but behind those walls, it’s a meat grinder.” In the meantime, a writer “source” talked about an instance when an acclaimed host faced ruthless mockery backstage. According to the “source”, one pop star received the nickname “AutoTune Barbie.” The person further noted that “The cruelty wasn’t hidden.” They added, “Everyone joined in.”
Another “insider” then mentioned “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, comparing the daytime talk show with SNL. The person said to the news outlet that “At Ellen, people feared the host.” They continued, “At SNL, the cast attack each other — and Lorne lets it happen.” In the meantime, an “ex-employee” claimed, talking about SNL, that: “The laughs are fake. The cruelty is real.” “This is the nastiest workplace on TV,” the person added.
