Charlie Kirk’s comments about Taylor Swift’s engagement have gained more attention following his death on Wednesday. The right-wing commentator aimed a tirade of sexist opinions at the singer, telling her to “reject feminism” in the wake of her happy announcement.
Charlie Kirk on Taylor Swift’s engagement: “Submit to your husband”
Charlie Kirk took aim at Taylor Swift just two weeks before his death. Speaking on his show on Real America’s Voice network, the conservative influencer offered misogynistic and unsolicited advice to the singer.
He said of the singer’s engagement: “This is something that I hope will make Taylor Swift more conservative.” He added that marrying Travis Kelce could “de-radicalize” her and could make her “go from a cat lady to a JD Vance supporter.”
There has been speculation that the NFL star may have Republic leanings after he said it would be an “honor” to have Donald Trump attend the Super Bowl earlier this year.
Kirk also stated that Taylor should “have more children than she has houses.” He told the singer to “Engage in reality more … Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge.”
The controversial figure also accused the Shake It Off singer of being a bad influence. He said: “Up until this point, that’s not a great role model for young women to wait all the way until you’re 35 and just put your career first.”
He added that the reason she had been “annoyingly liberal over the last couple of years” was because she was not yet married. She famously endorsed Kamala Harris is the last US election.
The MAGA podcaster was shot dead at a Utah Valley University show on Wednesday. President Trump referred to the shooting as “a dark moment for America”.
