The Morning Show’s Jennifer Aniston Reveals Secret to Her Reese Witherspoon Friendship

Perhaps fittingly, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon bonded on the set of Friends, and that relationship is still going strong today.

It’d been a long time since the pair worked together after that, but even with such a long gap, their relationship continued to blossom. Reese guest starred on Friends as the self-absorbed sister of Rachel played by Aniston over a decade ago. They didn’t work together again until The Morning Show, which is preparing for its fourth season later this month.

Between those two shows, Jennifer and Reese have been each other’s support system, growing closer while each have achieved massive success in the acting industry. Their chemistry has contributed significantly to the success of their current show. Both actresses were nominated for a People’s Choice Award for Drama Star of the Year, with Jennifer being named the winner.

They may have a love-hate relationship on The Morning Show, but off-camera, their support for one another carries them through. Their bond created from Friends all those years ago is still strong.

“I don’t know what I would do without her by my side, to be honest. She’s my support,” Jennifer said about Reese. “We hold each other up. I feel like we’ve just grown into [the show] and it sort of it just keeps accelerating,” she told Extra.

Jennifer adds that the drama on The Morning Show “is increasing.” The show features a star-studded cast, outside of Jennifer and Reese, including Jon Hamm and Emmy Award winner Billy Crudup. Ahead of the new season, though, there are some new names coming on board, including Academy Award winners Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons, with the latter playing Jennifer’s dad on the show.

“I can’t quite believe that it happened. That he said yes,” Jennifer said about Jeremy coming on board. “It’s just an embarrassment of riches,” she noted. She’s confident that season four will be a “good season.”

A new season of The Morning Show premieres on Apple TV+ September 17.
