Sydney Sweeney is starring in her toughest role to date. The actress had to undergo a grueling transformation to play boxing legend Christy Martin, but it seems the hard work has paid off. The trailer dropped yesterday, and fans are already buzzed to see the biopic.

While Sydney’s role as a buff and perm-haired boxer is a world away from her usual glamorous demeanor, fans are excited to see her taking on a new challenge.
Many took to YouTube to voice their support of the actress. One commenter wrote: “This looks incredible can’t wait to see it! Sydney is killing it.”
Another added: “A new found respect for Sydney Sweeney she has proven to be more than a pretty face. Love the trailer and transformation can’t wait to see the movie.”

Christy premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival recently and come to theaters on November 7. It tells the story of ’90s boxer Christy Martin, a trailblazer in female boxing whose rise to fame was shadowed by a tumultuous personal life. Ben Foster and Jess Gabor also feature in supporting roles.
The Euphoria star trained for months for the role, putting on a total of 30lb. She previously commented on punching her co-stars for real.
She told W Magazine about her prep for the movie: “I loved it,” she gushed. “I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training. I started eating, I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour.”
