Prince Harry caused more than a bit of controversy when he released his memoir in 2023. Spare contained some pretty scandalous claims and fully aired the royal family’s dirty laundry. Two years on, Harry has no regrets. In a recent interview the Prince defended his decision to release the book.
Prince Harry says his “conscience is clear” after releasing his book

While most of us might get back at our family by not answering their calls or “forgetting” to give back that sweater we borrowed three years ago, Harry took things to a whole different level. In 2023 memoir Spare he detailed physical fights, family feuds and using the media as a pawn to sway public image.
Unsurprisingly, the book didn’t do much to ease the tension between the family. But it did give us intriguing revelations like how Harry ended up with frostbite on his penis and his thoughts on Prince William’s receding hairline.
However, the Duke of Sussex recently said his “conscience is clear” regarding the tell-all book. In an interview with the Guardian published on Sunday, he said: “It is not about revenge, it is about accountability. You cannot have reconciliation before you have truth.”
He added: “I don’t believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public.”
Harry famously recounted a physical altercation he had with Prince William. He alleged that his older brother attacked him after the pair had argued about Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle. Harry claims William said she was “difficult” and “rude”.
He wrote: “It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.”
The Duke met with King Charles last week during his whirlwind trip to the UK, leading to hope of a full reconciliation with the family.
