Who doesn’t love a bit of Jennifer Coolidge? Well, the emphasis should perhaps be on “a bit.” It turns out that a big dose of the eccentric actress is actually too much for some.
Many Emmy viewers took to the internet to voice their opinion on the star’s intro for the Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. And the general consensus was: way too long.
In her rather meandering three-minute presentation, the comedy actress covered everything from Ozempic to power outages.
Fans took to X with comments like: “Is Jennifer Coolidge okay? What the hell is this bit?”
Another added: “Why is it taking Jennifer Coolidge 5 years to announce the nominees?”
She did get plenty of laughs from her fellow actors, though. Midway through her speech, she stated: “I can tell you from experiencing winning this, It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. It’s really not.
“I had gotten really close with my fellow nominees especially after I won but I’m pretty sure they removed me from the group chat.
“We were all supposed to go on a trip to Ibiza, and I found out that I wasn’t included. And the only reason I knew that was because Elizabeth Debicki and I have the same Ozempic dealer, and you know, at least hers is working.”
She eventually handed the Emmy to winner Jean Smart, who spoke for less than a minute.
The actress isn’t exactly known for being the shy and retiring type. Earlier this year she opened up about how her role in The White Lotus had improved her sex life.
