Rob Lowe may have put his wild past behind him, but he’s still got a taste for life on the edge. The actor revealed he had a near-death experience while celebrating the nuptials of Patrick Schwarzenegger and Abby Champion this month. And it would be quite a way to go.
Rob Lowe almost died on a golf cart
Rob has a need for speed – especially if there’s a golf cart involved. The actor made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday to promote his show The Floor. During the interview, he revealed he had a pretty dicey incident at the recent wedding of Patrick Schwarzenegger and Abby Champion.
Rob told Jimmy: “I literally almost got killed on a golf cart. It was down a really steep hill and the grass was wet. But I’ve had movies where they give you stunt driving, so I just kept the wheel like this [freezing in place] like I was trained to. My friend said, ‘You looked like a statue as you were spinning.'”
Clearly, the experience left the actor more than a little rattled. He said he now has a serious aversion to golf carts. He explained: “I’ll do crazy stuff, I’ll big wave surf, I’ll heli-ski, but little things scare me. Like, I’m petrified of golf carts … I’m really, really petrified of rolling a golf cart.”
Patrick and Abby tied the knot on September 6, despite rumors of relationship troubles during their engagement. Rob wasn’t the only familiar face in attendance. In addition to Patrick’s famous family: parents Arnold Schwarzenegger and mom Maria Shriver, sister Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt and brother-in-law Chris Pratt, Jason Isaacs, Iris Apatow, and Olivia Jade also attended.
White Lotus star Patrick previously dated Miley Cyrus, who dad Arnie recently described as a great houseguest.
