Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Will Benefit From Signing Prenup Before Wedding, Expert Claims

With talks of their wedding preparations making the rounds, the topic of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s prenup has grabbed everyone’s attention nearly a month into their engagement. On August 26, the power couple jointly announced on Instagram that the singer had said yes to the NFL star’s proposal. Recently, an expert advised the newly engaged pair to sign a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce should discuss getting a prenup, divorce attorney claims

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding has become a hot topic of discussion since they announced their engagement. From venues to outfits, several experts have come forward to share their thoughts on what could be the wedding of the century. Recently, a divorce attorney told Us Weekly that the soon-to-be married couple should discuss getting a prenup before walking down the aisle.

James Sexton, co-founder of TrustedPrenup.com, claimed, “There’s a lot of incentive in a situation like that for there to be clarity about what would happen if the marriage eventually ends.” Both celebrities have made a name for themselves in their respective fields. Hence, the expert advised that they should follow a “Yours, Mine and Ours” rule while signing the agreement.

Sexton explained, “If it’s in my name, whether it’s an asset or a liability, it’s mine. If it’s in your name, asset or liability, it’s yours. And then, if it’s in our joint names, we just divide it 50/50.” According to the divorce attorney, Swift has many “current” as well as “future” interests. However, NFL players tend to have short-lived careers as the sport is “physically demanding.” Therefore, the attorney advised the pair to specifically follow the “Yours, Mine and Ours” model.

The TrustedPrenup.com co-founder is not the only lawyer suggesting a prenuptial agreement between the pop sensation and her fiancé. Earlier, attorney Morgan Mazor also suggested the same for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. “I would also imagine an NDA is also a significant part of the prenup,” the legal expert noted.
