It has been several years since Kim Kardashian took a very public dig at Taylor Swift, and the infamous feud, which also involved Kanye West, is returning to the spotlight. A new two-part Channel 4 documentary, which will release on September 30, is set to dive into the highs and lows of the pop star’s career. According to the latest claims, at one point, Swift nearly walked away from fame because of Kardashian.

Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian’s bitter feud almost led to the singer quitting, says source

Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian’s bitter feud allegedly almost led to the singer quitting after the latter’s viral dig. In 2016, the reality television personality branded the singer a “snake” in a post on X (formerly Twitter). RadarOnline reports that the Channel 4 documentary has now revealed that Kardashian’s remarks put Swift at the center of online backlash.

A contributor to the documentary claimed that the “Love Story” hitmaker was “moments from quitting” following the incident. They continued, “The level of vitriol after Kim’s tweet was staggering.” The contributor alleged that it even sparked “death threats,” while Swift’s “reputation was shredded overnight.”

They added that the singer thought “there was no way to fight back.” Another fan who commented in the documentary stated that Swift was “powerless” after the “snake narrative.” According to them, the backlash spiraled to an extent that “there was no stopping it, no matter what she did.” Following that, Swift stepped back from the spotlight for nearly a year.

The incident occurred years after Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kanye West, infamously interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV VMAs when she won the Best Female Video award. The rapper stormed to the stage to speak against the then-19-year-old singer winning the accolade. West declared that Beyoncé “had one of the best videos of all time.”

This followed years of tense dynamics. West and Kardashian reignited the feud in 2016. This is when the hip-hop artist’s song “Famous” included controversial lyrics about Swift, referring to the viral award show moment. The two-part Channel 4 documentary will reportedly explore how these events affected the pop star’s career.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is gearing up to drop her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which releases on October 3.
