Despite being a couple for several months, Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster have delayed their red carpet debut. According to a new report, Foster is wary of the intense attention that comes with Jackman’s fame. She is also concerned about the impact of public attention on her 7-year-old daughter.
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster are not making red carpet debut for a reason
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster have yet to make their official red carpet debut as a couple, and insiders suggest there are specific reasons behind the delay. Since confirming their relationship, both have avoided high-profile events due to Foster’s hesitation, as reported by New Idea.
Sources reveal that Jackman and Foster have declined invitations to major ceremonies, including the Oscars, the Met Gala, and the Tony Awards. “Sutton is still nervous about taking that big step into Hugh’s world,” a source said. The source added that the Wolverine star’s international fame feels overwhelming for Foster. They said, “She likes her life treading the boards. This type of fame is next level.”
Despite the hesitation, Jackman is reportedly hopeful that Foster will join him at the premiere of his new film, Song Sung Blue, which will debut at the AFI Fest in Hollywood on October 26. “It’s a big moment for him, and he wants to share it with the woman he loves,” an insider added.
Sources also say that Foster is mindful of her 7-year-old daughter, Emily, with her estranged husband, Ted Griffin. The Broadway star wants to shield her daughter from excessive public attention. “She’s also worried about how it affects her daughter, and has been putting off her next step into the A-list spotlight because of her,” the source added.
Jackman and Foster grew close during the Broadway revival of The Music Man. Since the start of their romance, the couple has kept their relationship largely out of the public eye.
