Britney Spears threw more than a little shade in the direction of ex Sam Asghari on Instagram. Alongside a nude photo, the singer wrote a caption in which she branded the couple’s marriage “fake”. She said the relationship was just a distraction from the pain she felt while being away from her two sons.

In a now-deleted post, Britney fired shots at ex Sam by saying their relationship was just a “fake distraction”. She suggested the marriage was just a way for her to keep her mind off being apart from her sons, adding: “The hardest years of my life were my two sons gone for those 3 years. I was cut off from calling or texting and I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears.”
It’s not exactly clear what period the singer is referring to, but it could be related to her former conservatorship.
Sam responded to the comments through a rep. He said: “Our marriage was very real to me. It may have been short, but we were together for seven years. I was in love with her, will always have love for her, and wish her the best, always,” reports Radar Online.
The couple’s marriage lasted just 14 months, with their separation announced in July 2023. Neither Britney or Sam have commented on the specific reasons for the split, although Sam filed the divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The fitness model recently revealed that marriage may be on the cards for him and his girlfriend.
Britney recently reunited with her sons following years of estrangement. However, recent reports suggest the relationship may have already turned sour.
