Taylor Swift Hits Back at ‘Shockingly Offensive’ Rumors

Unless you live under a rock, you’ll probably be aware that Taylor Swift has just released a new album. The singer is busy promoting The Life of a Showgirl, and recently stopped by BBC Radio. During the chat with DJ Scott Mills, she responded to rumors that this could be her last ever record.

Taylor Swift fans theorized she would quit music after marrying Travis Kelce

Swifties have been worrying that this latest release could be Taylor’s last now that she’s tying the knot to NFL star Travis Kelce. Because, as we all know, there are no married performers in showbiz.

On an appearance on BBC Radio 2, Taylor described the speculation as a “shockingly offensive thing to say.” She added: “That’s not why people get married – so that they can quit their job.”

Host Scott Mills then notes: “I think the fans were just panicking.”

Taylor replies: “Oh, I know, they love to panic sometimes. But it’s like, I love the person I’m with because he loves what I do and he loves how much I’m fulfilled by making art and making music.”

The Blank Space singer then adds: “That’s the coolest thing about Trav, he’s so passionate about what he does that me being passionate about what I do, it connects us. There’s no point in time where he’s going to be like, I’m upset that you’re still making music.”

She compared their jobs, pointing out that they’re not so different in some ways. She said: “we both do three-and-a-half hour shows to entertain people in NFL stadiums.”

Taylor was rather tightlipped when it came to discussing her wedding plans, saying she’s concentrating on her excitement about marrying Travis and the launch of her new album. She was happy to talk about going into space during the interview, though.
