Elon Musk Canceling $40M Super Bowl Sponsorship Over Bad Bunny’s Show Debunked

Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl performance is one of the most-awaited events. However, an anonymous person has spread rumors online that Elon Musk has threatened to cancel his NFL Super Bowl sponsorship if the rapper performs. This has led to a frenzy among Bad Bunny’s fans, who are wondering if the speculations are indeed true.

Claim suggesting Elon Musk is canceling his $40M Super Bowl sponsorship over Bad Bunny debunked

The “Monaco” singer’s upcoming Super Bowl performance was recently marred by malicious rumors.

On October 11, an anonymous person on X (formerly Twitter) shared a TikTok video. The text read, “Elon Musk warns he’ll end Super Bowl sponsorship if Bad Bunny performs – NFL stands firm amid sponsor shockwaves.”

The video further revealed that the Tesla founder has threatened to pull his Super Bowl sponsorship if Bad Bunny performs at halftime. The caption also revealed that Musk and conservative critics have expressed their apprehension about the Puerto Rican musician headlining the Super Bowl.

Additionally, the video stems from a now-deleted Facebook post by the page Palace Corner. It came with the headline: “I WILL END MY SUPER BOWL SPONSORSHIP IF THEY LET BAD BUNNY PERFORM AT HALF TIME — Elon Musk Issues Shocking Ultimatum, NFL’s Response Leaves Millions Stunned!”

Consequently, the post ignited a fierce debate that has stunned fans, advertisers, and the NFL. However, the media outlet Lead Stories then debunked these false claims. They clarified that Elon Musk does not sponsor the Super Bowl, nor has he made any such claims.

The outlet stated that the Vietnam-based network has previously written unsavory remarks about Bad Bunny to gain readership via clickbait. They also conducted a detailed investigation regarding AI-generated news pages with clickbait headlines. Moreover, even X flagged the content as “a fabrication from a Vietnamese clickbait site.”

Meanwhile, the “Volando” singer hit back at critics with razor-sharp wit and sense of humor on the recent broadcast of SNL. “You might not know this, but I’m doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show. And I’m very happy, and I think everybody’s happy about it. Even Fox News,” he stated, taking a dig at the news channel.

Bad Bunny will be headlining the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 8, 2026. It will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
