On the Season 7 premiere of Hulu’s The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian reveals a small aneurysm was discovered in her brain during an MRI. After her doctor told the American Horror Story actor that the condition could be caused by stress, she blamed ex husband Kanye West.
By definition, an aneurysm is a bulge in an artery wall that forms in a weak area. Left untreated, aneurysms can burst, leading to internal bleeding and, in some cases, death.

On the episode, Kim immediately blames her combative relationship with Kanye for both her aneurysm as well as her psoriasis. Over the years, she suffered from the skin condition on and off and documented the health issue on her show. The couple married in 2014 and divorced in 2022. The Skims founder shares four kids with the rapper—North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7 and Psalm, 6.
Since their split, Kanye, who changed his legal name to Ye in 2018, regularly speaks out about his co-parenting relationship with Kim. This past March, he complained that the Kardashian family would not allow him to see his children. However, these claims were debunked. Kanye also said that he initially didn’t want kids with Kim in an Entertainment Tonight interview.
Kanye was dropped by major brands, including Adidas and Balenciaga, in 2022 after tweeting antisemitic comments. He was also under controversy for numerous tweets about his ex, including calling her a sex trafficker, amidst the couple’s ongoing child custody dispute.
In the October 23 episode, Kim said, during her marriage, “I always felt like I had a little bit of Stockholm syndrome, to where I always felt really bad and always protected [him] and always wanted to help [him].”
Kanye announced his bipolar disorder diagnosis in 2016 after being hospitalized for a psychiatric emergency. Last February, he claimed he is not bipolar, but instead is autistic.
