Jennifer Lawrence certainly made a lot of memories while filming the The Hunger Games. During the second installment Catching Fire, her co-star shared that he had a prop mishap and ended up smacking her right on the behind! Something neither of them will probably forget. So who was the guilty party? It was Sam Claflin!
Sam Claflin accidentally “smacked” Jennifer Lawrence with his trident

Sam famously portrayed fan favorite Finnick Odair in the Hunger Games series. He fondly reminisced on his time on the franchise while talking to PEOPLE about his new series, Lazarus, on Prime Video.
“I honestly really look back at that time with so many fond memories and just generally running around the jungles of Hawaii with Lynn Cohen on my back,” Sam shared. “I was sprinting through brush and rolling down hills and telling jokes and sitting in hot tubs in the middle of the jungle.”
He recalled one take where he had a bit of a weapon malfunction. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, the bottom of my trident came off in the middle of that fight choreography,'” Sam recalled. “I remember Jen saying, ‘I know what happened.’”
He laughed, “She basically, in the middle of the fight, she felt like she’d been bitten in the bum, and she ended up realizing that the end of my trident spun off and smacked her right in the bum cheek.”
Sam remembered that Jennifer got someone to take a photo of a welt that appeared. It was the same shape as the circular end of his trident, right on her butt. To be fair, though, that’s probably not the strangest thing to happen to Jennifer. The mom of two recently did a naked dance scene with Robert Pattinson for their new movie. So a trident to the bum is probably not a big deal.
“Catching Fire was such a special time in my life,” Sam said. The actor loved it so much that he was still trying to get a cameo in the now-filming Haymitch Abernathy prequel. Personally, I would love to see a Finnick prequel too! Make it happen, Hollywood!
