Kim Kardashian admits she’s not ready to call herself a “real lawyer” yet. The 45-year-old entrepreneur and reality TV star made the candid admission during a lie detector test interview with Vanity Fair, where she discussed her ongoing legal studies, and even her surprising use of ChatGPT for law-related help.
Kim Kardashian shares a look into her lawyer life in Vanity Fair interview
During the Vanity Fair segment, Kardashian was asked whether she now considers herself a “real lawyer.” Without hesitation, she replied, “Not yet, no.” The lie detector technician confirmed she was telling the truth. Kardashian, who has been pursuing law through California’s unique “apprenticeship route,” which allows aspiring attorneys to study under a practising lawyer rather than attend law school, is still waiting for the results of the California bar exam. She expects to receive them in November 2025 and said she feels confident about her performance. According to TMZ, the California bar exam features five one-hour essay questions, a 90-minute performance test, and 200 multiple-choice questions.
When her “All’s Fair” co-star Teyana Taylor, who conducted part of the interview, asked whether Kardashian uses ChatGPT for “life advice,” “dating advice,” or as a “friend,” the SKIMS founder answered no to all three. But she confessed she has used the AI chatbot for “legal advice.” “When I need to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture, snap it, and put it in there,” Kardashian explained. “It has made me fail tests… all the time. And then I’ll get mad and yell at it.”
Taylor laughed and asked if that made the AI tool her “frenemy.” Kardashian replied with a smile, “Yes, a frenemy. And then it’ll say back to me, ‘This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts. So you knew the answer all along.’” The lie detector test confirmed that Kardashian was telling the truth about using ChatGPT for her legal studies.
