Diddy is settling into his new temporary home, which he may fancy a lot more than his previous one.
In late October, the convicted sex trafficker was moved from the notorious Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) to Fort Dix in New Jersey. He had previously served 12 months in holding at the Brooklyn prison before his recent transfer.
In Brooklyn, he was reportedly under constant surveillance, which was affecting his time behind bars. In New Jersey, he should feel a little more freedom despite being behind bars.
Diddy will have an easier time at his new prison, according to a professor

It’s something his lawyers had requested, and last week it was granted.
Diddy is now settled into the Fort Dix jail. The low-security Federal Correctional Institution will likely be a more hospitable environment for the rapper than the one in Brooklyn.
In an exclusive interview with US Weekly, Seton Hall Law professor Bill Baroni described how much better his environment will be at Fort Dix. “His first days will be a dramatic change for the better,” he says.
Bill knows a thing or two about prisons, serving three months in jail for his involvement in Bridgegate. The scandal involved staff member and political appointees of then Governor Chris Christie colluding to create traffic jams. The Supreme Court eventually reversed Bill’s fraud conviction.
Diddy will likely serve out the remainder of his sentence in Fort Dix. Bill believes that this will a huge relief for the mega star. “His life will be so much easier where he is now,” he says. Bill adds that the Brooklyn MDC was one of the most severe prisons in America. His new life won’t be as regimented as it was in Brooklyn, with Diddy able to work out for hours, take classes and watch TV at Fort Dix.
The rapper has already made a friend in his new home, with photos showing him chatting up former NBA player Sebastian Telfair. Sebastian is in jail for defrauding the NBA’s health and benefit plan. His six-month sentence began in August.
Diddy will be released from prison in May 2028.
