The disappointing box office result of Jennifer Lopez‘s new movie, “Kiss of the Spider Woman”, reportedly gave her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, and his business partner and BFF, Matt Damon’s production company, Artists Equity, a “big black eye.” The actor and filmmaker duo have reportedly become more cautious about whether to produce any future projects for J.Lo.

In the meantime, the “I’m Into You” singer and “The Accountant” actor made headlines after the former couple reunited at the premiere event for the musical drama film, helmed by Bill Condon.

Ben Affleck’s company reportedly won’t produce a third movie for Jennifer Lopez

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company, Artists Equity, is reportedly no longer interested in producing a third movie for Jennifer Lopez. According to the National Enquirer, a source told them that the long-time friends, who founded the company together, have been reconsidering their financial support for any future project involving J.Lo.

The insider went on to say to the news outlet, “According to Jennifer’s camp, this movie was a win.” They continued, “because she’s proud of it.” However, producing this film allegedly represents a “big black eye” for Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company.

The insider then discussed the situation between J.Lo and Affleck during the movie’s production. The person claimed, “The whole project was put together back when Jennifer and Ben were a loving couple.” They continued, “with big dreams about collaborating on films.” The ex-couple parted ways in 2024, ending their two-year marriage.

Meanwhile, the source further said to the news outlet that Ben Affleck’s company’s co-founder, Matt Damon, “fully backed their vision.” The person continued, “he and Ben wrote a big check to get this movie going.” They claimed that the duo “can’t resist making vanity projects driven by actors.” “But it’s long past time for them to get real and get this studio’s product selling tickets,” the insider added.
