Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, has come forward to explain her stance on the viral Halloween costume. It appears that Nicole had thrown shade at Travis and Taylor by performing to Toni Braxton’s hit track “He Wasn’t Man Enough.” Now, Nicole has clarified her stance on her The Pre Game with Kayla Nicole podcast.
Kayla Nicole talks about Halloween costume inspiration
Travis Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole has finally addressed the inspiration behind her recent Halloween avatar. The 34-year-old model explained, “I had a white best friend. Her name was Taylor. And she [was] the only house I could go over to as a kid because my mom didn’t play them type of games.”
One day, Nicole realized she wasn’t the only fan of Toni Braxton’s hit song “He Wasn’t Man Enough.” Nicole recalled, “Her mom was playing this song, playing it at the top of her lungs. It was just like an ah-hah moment that, ‘Wow, white people listen to Black people music as well.’” (via E News).
For those unversed, on October 31, Travis Kelce’s ex, Nicole, shared a carousel unveiling her Halloween look on Instagram. She danced to Toni Braxton’s 2000 hit song “He Wasn’t Man Enough”. Not just that, Nicole recreated her iconic shimmering outfit and dance moves from the music video.
Travis Kelce’s ex, Nicole, did not explicitly name either him or Swift. However, the title and song lyrics alluded to her ex-boyfriend. However, fans on the internet seemed convinced that it was a swipe at Kelce and Swift.
For those unaware, there appears to be an unspoken, ongoing cold war between Swift and Nicole. The pop star appeared to have shaded Nicole in her song “Opalite”.
The lyrics, “You couldn’t understand it, why you felt alone / You were in it for real, she was in her phone / And you were just a pose,” allegedly reference a real-life incident between Kelce and Nicole (via Page Six).
On Wednesday night, November 5, Swift and Kelce stepped out holding hands. The couple dined at The Polo Bar in New York City. This marked their first joint appearance since Kayla Nicole’s alleged shade at them during Halloween. (via Page Six).
