Miss Universe Executive Dismissed After Drama With Miss Mexico Contender Fátima Bosch

Don’t mess with (a potential) Miss Universe. Organizers of this year’s contest has removed Nawat Itsaragrisil and imposed several other sanctions against him. The pageant executive berated Mexican contestant Fátima Bosch during an official livestream. A number of other Miss Universe contestants walked out of the room after his comments.

Nawat Itsaragrisil had a heated exchange with Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch

The president of the Miss Universe pageant has announced that Nawat Itsaragrisil has been dismissed from this year’s competition. In a social media video, Raúl Rocha said (in Spanish) that the contest’s officials have taken several steps against the executive.

In a clip posted to the pageant’s official Instagram page, he said: “I have restricted Nawat’s participation in the events that are part of the 74th Miss Universe competition, limiting it as much as possible or eliminating it entirely,” per People.

He added that he wished to express his “great indignation towards Nawat for the public aggression he committed against Fátima Bosch … whom he humiliated, insulted, and showed lack of respect to.”

He concluded: “I will not allow the values of respect and dignity towards women to be violated. Nawat, you need to stop.”

The confrontation happened on a Facebook livestream. Itsaragrisil chastised Miss Mexico for allegedly refusing to take part in a photo shoot, which she denied. He ultimately referred to her as a “dumbhead.”

Itsaragrisil has since apologized for his comments. He said during a press conference on November 5: “I am human. I didn’t want to do anything like that.”

The pageant will take place on November 21, and Miss Mexico is reportedly still in the running.

In more wholesome beauty pageant news, Miss World Chile recently went viral for her very unexpected talent performance.
