NFL May Fine Travis Kelce for Heated On-Field Exchange

Travis Kelce may potentially face another fine after a heated on-field exchange during the Chiefs’ game against the Denver Broncos. Kelce and the team were coming off a much-needed bye week after their loss against the Buffalo Bills on November 2. Notably, the Chiefs are in a tight spot yet again after a crushing defeat of 22–19 against the Broncos in their second consecutive defeat.

Travis Kelce may have broken a rule during Chiefs vs. Broncos

Travis Kelce might face another fine for breaking a crucial rule in last night’s Chiefs vs. Broncos game. With 7:02 left on the clock in the second quarter, all eyes were glued to players from both sides. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw the ball to Kelce, who caught it and ran ten yards.

This earned the Chiefs their first down and marked Kelce’s second catch of the game. The opposition tried their best to stop Kelce from reaching his goal. Broncos cornerback Ja’Quan McMillian landed on Kelce’s chest, infuriating him.

The Chiefs’ tight end and McMillian then came face-to-face and exchanged heated words on the field before going their separate ways. At the time, the score was 6–6.

Kelce has been fined twice this year already by the NFL. In last season’s AFC Championship, the NFL fined Kelce $11,255 for taunting the Buffalo Bills. The second time, the NFL fined the tight end a whopping $14,491 for an obscene gesture against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Travis Kelce has had a brilliant season so far. He has 41 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns. However, both Kelce and McMillian may have to face a hefty fine of up to $11,593 for a first taunting offense. The guilty player may have to cough up $17,389 for a second violation. The Chiefs will next play against the Indianapolis Colts at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, November 23.
