At 15, he started an apprenticeship at a local pastry shop, excelling and graduating first in his class within two years. He then worked with top chefs like Jacques Maximin at the Hotel Negresco and earned a Master Pastry Chef degree. In 1986, Torres made history by becoming the youngest person to win the prestigious Meilleur Ouvrier Pâtissier de France competition, establishing his reputation as a culinary prodigy. He later moved to the United States, where he worked as the Corporate Pastry Chef for the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company and then as Executive Pastry Chef at Le Cirque for 11 years. Torres’ love for education and innovation led him to the International Culinary Center, where he became the Dean of Pastry Arts, helping to shape the careers of future pastry chefs.
